The Great Discourse
Main Index | Revised King James New Testament
Let not your hearts be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me. - John 14:1
This Web site contains the words of Jesus from the New Testament as categorized by the author (identified only as C.W.L.) of an old book called The Great Discourse, published in 1890 by Anson D. F. Randolph and Co. I have, with minimal editing, taken the author's categories and verse references and quoted the verses in the modern Revised King James Version New Testament.
While I follow most of the logic of C.W.L., there are instances in which I do not understand the reason for putting a particular quote in a particular category. Nevertheless, I give to you the verses in the categories that C.W.L. gave to the world.
In the preface, the author says that during a period of deep religious questioning this project of categorizing the words of Jesus helped him see the beauty and truth of the "great discourse" that Jesus gave to mankind, and thereby led him back to faith. I pray it may help your faith as well.
