X. Charity

Acts 20:35 - I have shown you in all things, that by labouring in this manner you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words the Lord Jesus himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given to you; a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men put in your lap. For the measure you give to others shall be the same measure given back to you.

Matthew 5:42 - Give to him who asks from you, and do not turn away from him who would borrow from you.

Luke 6:30 - Give to every man who asks of you; and from him who takes away what is yours, do not ask for it back.

Luke 12:33 - Sell what you have, and give alms; provide yourselves purses which do not grow old, a treasure in heaven that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Matthew 19:21 - Jesus said to him, If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Mark 10:21 - Then Jesus, beholding him, loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack: go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come follow me.

Luke 18:22 - Now when Jesus heard this, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Luke 12:34 - For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:1 - Take heed that you do not practice your righteousness before men, to be seen by them: otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 6:2 - Therefore, when you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have praise from men. Truly I say to you, They have received their reward.

Matthew 6:3 - But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing:

Matthew 6:4 - That your alms may be in secret: and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you.

Luke 14:12 - Then he said to his host, When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your kinsmen, or your rich neighbours; lest they invite you in return, and you are repaid.

Luke 14:13 - But when you have a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

Luke 14:14 - And you shall be blessed; for they cannot repay you: but you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.

Mark 12:43 - And he called his disciples to him, and said to them, Truly I say to you, That this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others:

Mark 12:44 - For all the others gave out of their abundance; but she gave out of her poverty, putting in everything she had, all she had to live on.

Luke 21:3 - And he said, Truly I say to you, that this poor widow has put in more than all of them:

Luke 21:4 - For all these have given offerings to God out of their abundance: but she in her poverty has put in all she had to live on.

Luke 11:41 - But rather give what you have within as alms; and, behold, all things are clean for you.

Luke 16:9 - And I say to you, Make friends for yourselves using worldly wealth; that, when it fails, they may receive you into the eternal habitations.
