XVIII. Backsliding

Matthew 12:43 - When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

Matthew 12:44 - Then it says, I will return to my house from which I came; and when it comes, it finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

Matthew 12:45 - Then it goes, and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they enter in and live there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.

Luke 11:24 - When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it passes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return to my house from which I came.

Luke 11:25 - And when it comes, it finds it swept and in order.

Luke 11:26 - Then it goes, and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself; and they enter in, and live there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
