Prague: The capital of Bohemia, is the English form of the German Prag, or Praha, which in Czech means the "threshold," referring, it is supposed, to a reef of rocks in the bed of the Moldau. The suburb of Warsaw on the right bank of the Vistula similarly goes by the name of Praga, the "threshold."
