Hotel des Invalides: Freely translated, "Soldiers' Home." A great establishment founded in 1670 at Paris for disabled and infirm soldiers. The interior possesses balls adorned with interesting military paintings, and contains the Musee d'Artillerie, which includes a remarkable collection of medieval and Renaissance armor. It contains also the tomb of Napoleon I.
