Cleopatra's Needles: A pair of Egyptian obelisks of pink granite which were transported from Hellopolls to Alexandria in the eighteenth year of Augustus. One of them was taken to London and set up on the Thames Embankment, in 1878, and the other was soon after brought to New York and erected in Central Park.
