Bullhead. The popular name of certain fishes of the families Siluridae and Cottidae. In America this name is given to certain members of the catfish order, particularly to the "bull-pout", Amiurus nebulosus. They live by preference in still, muddy water, feed on worms, crustaceans, and insects, and are easily taken with a hook. The flesh is palatable and remarkably free from bones.
