Tubifex

Tubifex, the Red River Worm, a small worm living in burrows in wet sand and mud in most English rivers, and also in pools. It is about an inch in length, and has a thin, thread-like body. Its correct zoological name is Saenuris tubifex, though it is often called Tubifex rivulorum.
