Trona
Trona. consists of a hydrated acid carbonate Of sodium of composition Na4H2(CO3)32H2O, which occurs as an efflorescence on the soil, chiefly in the neighbourhood of saline lakes in Egypt, Thibet, Asia Minor, and Siberia. It may be obtained crystallised in fine rhombic prisms, and has been known and employed for very many centuries.
