Testacellidae

Testacellidae, a family of slugs belonging to the order Stylommatophora (q.v.) and the class Gastropoda (q.v.). The members of the family have a spiral shell of very small size, situated at the hinder end of the body. The shell is thus rudimentary, as it is useless for protection.
