Terbium

Terbium. a rare metallic element which occurs associated with other rare metals - e.g. niobium, erbium, etc., in a few minerals - e.g. samarscite. It forms salts corresponding to the oxide Tr₂O₂, but, owing to its rarity, the chemistry of the metal and its compounds is very incompletely known.
