Temple Frederick
Temple, FREDERICK (b. 1821), Archbishop of Canterbury, was educated at Tiverton and Oxford. He was headmaster of Rugby from 1858-68, when he became Bishop of Exeter. In 1885 he was translated to London. In 1896 he was appointed to the Primacy, He contributed a paper on The Education of the World to Essays and Reviews (1860), which, in consequence of the other contents of the volnme, roused a futile opposition to his appointment to the see of Exeter.
