Taylor
Taylor EDWARD BURNETT, was born in 1832. In 1856 he went with Henry Christy on a scientific tour in Mexico, and in 1861 published Anahuac, or Mexico and the Mexicans. It was followed by Researches into the Early History of Mankind (1865) and Primitive Culture (1871), which placed the author in the first rank of anthropologists. In 1871 he was elected F.R.S., and in 1883 became Reader in anthropology at Oxford and keeper of the University Museum. In 1891 he was President of the Anthropological Society.
