Talent, the heaviest money-weight used by the ancient Greeks. Three silver talents appear in the course of Greek history -- the AEginetan, the Euboic, and the Attic, weighing 83-4/7 lbs., 55-5/7 lb. respectively, and equivalent to £303-1/8, £203-1/8, and £210-15/16 of our money. Each talent contained 60 minae.
