Tabasheer

Tabasheer, or Tabachir, the Indian name for the remarkable siliceous secretion formed in the joints of old bamboo stems. It is an amorphous hydrated silica or opal; but is supposed in India to possess medicinal virtues. It is of a bluish-white color and has a pearly lustre.
