Stall
Stall, one of a range of seats against the sides and screen of a cathedral choir or of a college chapel generally having side partitions, and often a canopy and miserere. The term is used to designate the dignity of a canon. In the theatre a chair or partitioned seat; now one of the seats in the front part of the pit, which is called the stalls.
