Spezzia

Spezzia, or SPEZIA, a port in Italy, situated on the gulf of the same name, 56 miles S.E. of Genoa. It is now the great naval arsenal of the kingdom, the harbour having been recently protected by an immense breakwater, whilst docks and basins havbe been constructed with an area of 250 acres. The military depots are in the suburb of St. Vito, whilst the naval yards lie at St. Bartolomeo across the gulf.
