Snapdragon
Snapdragon, the popular name for Antirrhinum majus and allied species, scrophulariaceous plants with racemes of showy flowers, with a saccate "personate," ie. mask-like, corolla, followed by oblique, two-chambered, many-seeded pore-capsules. The flower differs from that of the toad-flaxes in having a pouch instead of a spur. Antirrhinums are old-fashioned garden favourites.
