Sidonius Apollinaris
Sidonius Apollinaris, a Latin Writer of the 5th century, born at Lyons. He married the daughter of the Emperor Avitus (456), and in 472 became Bishop of Clermont in Auvergne. His works, which possess considerable historical value, include nine books of letters and panegyrics in verse on three emperors.
