Shrew Moles
Shrew-Moles, a popular name for some moles from North America which have the muzzle elongated and the hind-feet webbed. The Shrew-Mole (Scalops aquaticus) and the Praire-Mole (S. argentatus) are widely distributed in the United States. The Texan Shrew-Mole (S. latimanus) is confined to Texas and Mexico. The other forms are sometimes placed in a separate genus on account of some differences in the teeth.
