Sagar, the chief town of the Sagar District in the N.W. of the Central Provinces, India; lat. 23° 50' N., long. 78° 48' E. It is situated beside a fine lake of the same name, along the shores of which are bathing ghats and Hindu temples. It carries on a trade in salt.
