Rhea
Rhea, a genu's of South American ostrich-like birds with three species, each distinguished by its geographical range as well as by anatomical characters. The wings are useless for flight, though more developed than in the ostrich. Each of three digits of the fore-limb bears a claw. There are three toes. The feathers have no aftersbaft; and the general plumage is sombre, except in Darwin's Rhea, from the south-east of the continent, most of the feathers of which are tipped with white.
