Receipt

Receipt, a formal acknowledgment in writing of the payment or delivery of a specified amount of money or of property of any kind, with date, name of depositor, signature of recipient, and any other relevant particulars. Also in popular use as a substitute for the medical recipe, so called from the first word (" take") of a prescription, a formula or set of instructions for producing a specified object or result.
