Pyrrhus
Pyrrhus, the great king of Epirus, was born about 318 B.C., and succeeded to the throne in 295 B.C. Fifteen years later he took the part of the Greek colonies in Italy against Rome, and i.e. a chain of four CH groups closed by the group NH. It is a colourless liquid, which becomes coloured, however, if allowed to stand in contact with air. It boils at about 131°, and the substance itself, as well as its derivatives, is recognised by the formation of a deep indigo colour with isatin and sulphuric acid.
