Plethora
Plethora was the term applied by old medical writers to the condition in which they supposed there was an excess of blood in the body. The expression is still sometimes used to denote the habit of body in which there is a florid complexion with distended capillaries of the face, a tendency to hasmorrhage, and it may be a disposition to over-indulgence in food and alcohol.
