Pennant

Pennant, Thomas (1726-98), traveller, antiquary, and naturalist, was born on his father's estate of Downing, in Flintshire, and studied at Queen's College, Oxford, but left without taking a degree. Besides several scientific works, which are now out of date, be wrote accounts of Tours in Scotland (1771-75) and Wales (1778-81), which have a literary as well as an antiquarian value.
