Orris Root
Orris Root, the rhizome of Iris gevmanica, 1. pallida, and I. florentina, which has an odour of violets, and has long been used for tooth-powder, hair-powder, and liqueurs. It is imported from Leghorn, Trieste, and Mogador, that from the first-named port being most esteemed.
