Orne

Orne, a department of France which takes its name from a river which flows through it, has Calvados and Eure on the north, Mayenne and Sarthe on the south, and Eure-et-Loire on the east. The total area is 2,353 square miles. The surface is hilly and wooded in the south. Cider-brewing and the rearing of horses and cattle are the chief industries. Alencon is the largest town.
