Olives

Olives, The Mount of, or Mount Olivet (Mod. Jebel el-Tirr), a, hill facing the eastern side of the Temple in Jerusalem, and separated therefrom by the brook Kidron. Here Christ delivered his Sermon on the Mount, and hence, according to an unsupported tradition, the Ascension took place.
