Nisch
Nisch, the chief town in southern Servia, stand's in the midst of a vine-growing district. It is the seat of a Greek bishop. The town has played an important part in the wars from 1375-1878, and it was here that on September 23, 1689, the Austrians gained a victory over the Turks.
