Nepomuk
Nepomuk, St. John, a Bohemian saint, so called from the name of his birthplace, is said to have lived in the 14th century. He made a great reputation for himself as a preacher, but in some way incurred the anger of the Emperor Wenceslaus, by whose orders in 1383 he was drowned in the Moldau. Nepomuk was canonised in 1721. The whole story is probably mythical.
