Miserere
Miserere, the name taken from the first word of the Vulyate of the fifty-first Psalm, used as a canticle in various liturgies, as in the Anglican and Latin burial services. Also a setting of this psalm to music - the most celebrated being that of Allegri - which is regularly performed in the Sistine Chapel at the Tenebraa service in Holy Week. The name is also given to a certain class of seats in church stalls.
