Mandaic, a corrupt Syriac dialect in which are written the Genza (Codex Nasarams) and other writings of the Nazarenes or Mandaeans (q.v.). The yvord Manda is referred to root yada, "to know," by Dr. A. J. Brandt, who gives the best account of these people in Mdndaische Religion, etc. (Leipzig, 1889).
