Maimon
Maimon, Solomon (1754-1800), a philosopher. was born in Russia. He studied the Talmud, and was trained for a rabbi. Having made the acquaintance of the system of Maimonides, he went to Berlin, where he studied philosophy, science, and languages. His life was aimless and poverty-stricken, and he wrote little, his chief works being Versuoh einer Transcendentalen Philosophic (1790), and an Autobiography (1792).
