Lodestone

Lodestone, or Magnetite, is an oxide of iroi having the composition Fe304. The name is de rived from its use as a compass or "leading-stone J by mariners. It is frequently, but not always, found in a, magnetised condition, and was once regardec as an object of great and mysterious interest [Magnetite.]
