Limoges

Limoges, a French city, capital of the department of Haute-Vienne, and formerly of Limousin. It is an episcopal see, and has a fine cathedral, a palace, and hotel de ville. Its manufactures are woollen, linen, and cotton goods, and paper, and there are tanneries and iron forges.
