Knightsof Labour

Knights of Labour, a labour organisation founded ii Philadelphia in 1869 with the object of advancing the interests of every kind of labour, skilled and unskilled - in short, of wage-earners generally. Its first large assembly was held in 1878, and it kept increasing until in 1886 its numbers reached 750,000. Since then it has steadily decreased, and now there are only about 100,000 members.
