Khasi

Khasi and Jaintia, Hills, an administrative district under the Chief Commissioner of Assam, covering 6,157 square miles, of which 2,160 square miles are British territory. The surface is a series of grassy plateaus. Limestone, lime, oranges, and potatoes are exported in large quantities to Bengal. The headquarters are at Chillong.
