Ket
Ket, or Kett, Robert and William, two brothers who carried on the business of tanners at Norwich,'and'put themselves at the'head of the movement against the enclosures of land and the spread of Protestantism during .the rule of the Protector Somerset. They were men of ability and character, keeping their followers under considerable discipline. After defeating the Marquis of Northampton, they were routed and captured by Lord Warwick in 1549, and both were hanged on the Tree of Reformation, beneath which they held their tribunal.
