Karshi

Karshi, a town in the Khanate of Bokhara, Central Asia, about 80 miles S.S.W. of Samarcand. Its ancient name was Nakstheb. Commercially it was one of the most important cities of Central Asia, knives and firearms being sent from it to all the surrounding countries.
