Kalidasa

Kalidasa, a famous Indian poet, whose great drama Sakuntala ("The Lost Ring") has been translated by Sir William Jones (1789) and Sir Monier Williams (1855). His date is extremely doubtful, but it seems probable that he lived in the 6th century A.D.
