Jintias
Jintias (Jaiantias), a wild tribe of north-east India, akin to the Khassias, occupy the eastern section of the uplands separating the Brahmaputra from its great affluent, the Megna. Since u.e deposition of their chief in 1835, their territory has formed an integral part of the British province of Assam. The Jintias are a brave but peaceful people, who cultivate much land, and keep large herds of cattle.
