Iris
Iris. In classical mythology, a personification of the rainbow. In the Iliad she is the messenger of Zeus, Hera, and other Olympian deities. She is regarded as the daughter of Thaumas (son of Gaea) and the Oceanid Electra, and sister of the Harpies. In art she is represented with wings on her shoulders and with a herald's staff; sometimes also with a pitcher.
