Hypochondriasis

Hypochondriasis, a form of disease which sometimes affects middle-aged and elderly men. The chief symptoms are anxiety, depression of spirits, and there may be actual delusions; it is often associated with dyspepsia. These symptoms may all clear up under appropriate treatment, but in some instances they are associated with the onset of some definite form of organic disease.
