Hyderabad
Hyderabad, or the Nizam's Dominions, the largest native state, occupies the centre of the Deccan, lat. 15° to 21° 30' N., long. 75° to 81° 30' E., including the old provinces of Hyderabad and Seeder. It is for the most part a tableland 1,800 feet to 2,000 feet above the sea, with granitic ranges running N.W. to S.E. The chief rivers are the Godavery and Kristna. The climate is temperate, and much of the soil very rich and fertile, yielding grain, cotton, sugar-cane, and tobacco. The chief exports are steel, cotton, and teak.
