Histology

Histology is the science which treats of the minute anatomy and microscopic appearances of the tissues of animal bodies. The whole of the animal body is made up of cells, or the derivatives of cells, and greeit advances have been made within recent years in the study of the various modifications which cells undergo, and accurate knowledge of the way in which these cells are built up to form the several organs of the body has been obtained.
