Heywood Thomas
Heywood, Thomas (fl. 1600-1630), a dramatist of the times of Elizabeth, James I., and Charles I., was born in Lincolnshire and educated at Cambridge. He wrote wholly or in part 220 plays, of which 24 are extant, and he ranks high among the play writers of his time. Two of his best-known plays are a Woman killed with Kindness, and Four London 'Prentices. In 1856 J. Payne Collier issued in two volumes an edition of his works, with a life and remarks on his writings.
