Hesperidae
Hesperidae, a family of butterflies known as the "Skippers," the members of which occur mainly in tropical America. There are seven English species, of which Pamphila sylvanus (Linn.) is one of the largest. The "Lulworth Skipper" is of interest only owing to its occurrence at but one locality. The popular name is derived from their brisk, jerky flight.
