Hawk

Hawk, a loose name for any raptorial bird that does not prey upon carrion, thus excluding the owls and vultures. It is properly confined to the Accipitrine genera, Ace.ipiter [Sparrow-Hawk] and Astnr [Goshawk], in which the bill bears no tooth.
