Hanau
Hanau, a Prussian town in the province of Hesse-Nassau, on the Kinzig, 13 miles E. of Frankfort. The manufactures include hats, carpets, leather, chocolate, and gunpowder, and there are breweries and an iron foundry. In the neighbourhood is the spot where the allied forces under Wiede were defeated by Napoleon in 1813.
